Electrical car Charger installation

We supply and fit Electrical vehicle chargers (EV car chargers) but first we will explain about electrical vehicle charging, it is a fairly new service which we think needs to be simplified.

Firstly you need to know there are three ways to charge an electric car: at home, at the workplace, or at a public charging point, we deal with at home and the workplace by installing a home car charging station or workplace car charging station.

Electric Car Charger Home Installation

Charging your electrical car at night is seen as the simplest option. Overnight charging in most cases will provide enough charge for a full days driving so the driver starts with the equivalent of a full tank. Most electric cars can be charged at home using a standard three-pin domestic plug socket.

A new EV car charger will be supplied with a standard EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) charging cable which allows the electric car to be charged from any mains socket wherever it is.

To keep yourself and your electric car safe while charging we would recommend we install a dedicated EV electric charging wall box. It is safer because it communicates to the car while charging. The added benefit of a dedicated EV electric charging wall box is that it reduces the charging time by 30-60% depending on which electric car you have.

At present the government gives a 50% grant towards the cost of one.

There are various types of wall EV car chargers and of course some manufacturers recommend certain types.

Electric Car Charger Workplace Installation

Having workplace car charging points help make electric cars more useable because it allows top ups to the electric charge allowing further distance to your driving.

If you own a business and would like to install an electrical charging point there is help given here >

The Workplace Charging Scheme is a voucher-based scheme that provides support towards the up-front costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charge points.

Public Charging

The network of public chargers around the UK are best suited for longer journeys, with a rapid charging unit providing up to 80% of charge in as little as 20-30 minutes. But of course you need to find one and pay for access.

They are not as convenient as recharging at home or at work.
